Today's kid report comes from Julie Quinn of Lakeside, CA...



I was horrified one day to hear my almost-two-year-old daughter
Emma apparently cursing in an adjacent room: "Friggin' turtle,
friggin' mama, friggin' dark..."

I was working on some nasty words of my own for my husband
(surely this was his fault!) as I walked into the living room
to try to explain to a toddler why we shouldn't say that word.

I was greatly relieved, however, to find Emma on the floor
flipping through "Franklin in the Dark", a book about Franklin
the turtle and his fear of the dark.

So instead of getting a lecture on manners, Emma received
her first lesson on the importance of enunciation.
